5K Run/Walk for Autism

Chesterton-High-SchoolNatalie Petro, a junior at CHS, has organized a charity 5k run/walk for MAAP to be held at Chesterton High School this Saturday. MAAP, Making Advancements for the Autistic Population, is a non-profit charity which started in 1984. I would greatly appreciate it if you would encourage your students to participate. We would also like to personally invite you and your families to join us.

Sign up will be at the track, via email at maapnatalie@gmail.com or by contacting MAAP Services at 219-662-1311 or Robert Petro at 312-623-6642. All proceeds will be used by MAAP to support events in Porter, Lake and LaPorte Counties. If you are unable to participate but would still like to become a member or make a donation, google OASIS @ MAAP.

Natalie is MAAP’s first Director of Youth Activities. The youth organization’s focus is on educating students at the high school and developing “buddy” systems in order to educate students at the middle and elementary schools of Chesterton. One of her long term goals is for the program to continue on for many years in Chesterton, and she is excited to see her brothers, Paul, 8th Grade, and John, 5th grade, already chipping in by posting flyers about town and in their schools.

Also, if you have any students who may benefit from MAAP's services, or if you would be interested in being part of the buddy system, please email maapnatalie@gmail.com
