This year, the Portage Township YMCA volunteered to help 500 Turkeys, Inc. accomplish their goal of feeding 1,000 families throughout Northwest Indiana on Thanksgiving. In total, the Y needs to collect 200 boxes of instant mashed potatoes and 100 salt and pepper shakers. We have all done a fantastic job, but we are just shy of our goal and the deadline is tomorrow, Friday, November 4th.
Will you help?
Items can be dropped off at the Portage Y. If you or your children participate in an off-site program such as Y-Care, you may drop off there with YMCA staff. Both items are available at the Dollar Tree, Walmart, Meijer and other grocery retailers.
We still need 70 boxes of instant mashed potatoes and 38 salt & pepper shakers
