Valparaiso University Hosts Polar Plunge
Valparaiso University and the Special Olympics of Indiana are coming together to raise support and funds to sponsor athletes throughout the state. All funds raised through the Polar Plunge go toward training and athletic competition for more than 11,000 Special Olympics Indiana athletes. The event is open to the public and free to watch.

The nonprofit center will be celebrating its 15 years with multiple events throughout 2014. The next such event is being hosted on Friday, February 14, or Valentine’s Day. Fly Your Sweetie to the Moon is an adult date night for couples, who will be challenged to engage their problem solving, teamwork and communication skills to complete a mission to the Moon.

Longtime Porter County resident, Robert Cain has inspired generations of Valparaiso Public School students to pursue art. His passion for creativity is apparent through both his artwork, and his teaching in the classroom. See the unveiling of Bob Cain's work at the Porter County Museum at the gallery opening on February 16, from 1-4p. Hear Mr. Cain discuss his work and his career at 2p.

Senior Art Exhibit Reception
Please join us for the Senior Art Exhibit Reception, on Saturday February 15, from 1 to 3 pm at the Portage Public Library. Art will be displayed throughout the month of February.

The Great Loves of La Porte County
You don't have to have a Valentine in order to enjoy a special Valentine program and party, Saturday, February 15th at 1PM at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum. The program entitled "Great Loves of La Porte County" features stories gathered from visitors to the museum over the past several weeks, and will be read by museum staff and volunteers.

1st Annual Valparaiso F.O.P. Poker Tournament
Come join us at the Forest Park Welter Room in the Forest Park Golf Course Clubhouse (1155 Sheffield Dr. – Valparaiso) for a night of Texas Hold’em style Poker. All proceeds help with funding of the Valparaiso FOP Lodge #76 “Shop with a Cop” and “Christmas Basket” programs.

Crown Point Community Theatre to Perform Miracles
The well-known "Godspell" production will close out this weekend at the Crown Point Community Theatre. Familiar songs have new orchestrations that hearken the sound of hip hop and Gospel music, and references in the script have been updated to relate more closely to current events and technology. The production has also eschewed the traditional "clown" motif for the costumes, instead modernizing the look to make things feel like a narrative rock concert.

Chili Cookoff & Bake Sale Benefitting Area's 3D
Valpo's very own Planetary Blues Band donate their time and talents to the Chili Cook-Off and Bake Sale to benefit the local chapter of 3D: Disabilities & Disorders With Dignity. The Fundraiser is to raise monies for the Disabilities March and Dignity Festival planned for later this Summer.
