This weekend includes the mixture of events that makes Northwest Indiana such a unique and fun place to be! From concerts, to art walks, to comedy night at Horseshoe Casino, the weekend’s events will surely excite everyone in one way or another! So, what to do this weekend? Well, embrace your Indiana-ness and head to the Crown Point Corn Roast on Friday and Saturday. Or bring the family to Stone Lake in La Porte to watch some of the fastest boats sprint around the lake for the 5th Annual maple City Grand Prix! Donate to a good cause while drinking some excellent beer at the Brew at the Zoo, or watch your favorite Hoosier Star singers perform once more to raise money for a local charity center. Whatever your hobbies are and wherever your passions lie, the roundup of Northwest Indiana events is why people love the Region so much. We are a diverse, unique, corn-lovin’ group of Midwesterners, always looking for some fun!

Maple City Grand Prix Weekend
Head out to Stone Lake this weekend for some fun, fast, family-friendly boat racing! It is the 5th annual Maple City Grand Prix, and it is an entire weekend of races, meet the drivers, boat parading and block party and more! Saturday, watch the races and awards then head downtown for the La Porte Cruise Night and street dance. Sunday concludes the racing events and the final awards ceremony is at 4:30 p.m. Click here for the schedule of events!
Crossroads Chamber of Commerce Corn Roast
It is time again for the Crown Point Corn Roast! Open Friday night and Saturday afternoon, head to Crown Point for corn, a beer garden, magic shows, and live music. There will be corn hole tournaments going on throughout the day, and of course, the annual corn-on the-cob eating contest!
Family Fun Mini Golf Night at Zao Island
Thanks to the Hobart Chamber of Commerce, Friday night is a night of family fun! For just $20, there will be unlimited mini golf, bounce house and slide chances, unlimited pizza buffet, kids activities and more! There will also be a bags tournament to compete in! Kids ages 3 and under are free!
Wayne Brady at Horseshoe Casino
Watch Wayne Brady – dancer, actor, singer, and comedian – this Friday night at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond. Known for his improv performances on “Whose Line is it Anyway” Brady has also been on stage for “Chicago” and “Hamilton.” The guy does it all, and he will be here to entertain for the Northwest Indiana fans! Chalk the Walk
Chalk the Walk is the annual fundraising and awareness building event for the Family and Youth Services Bureau. The event offers local businesses and organizations the opportunity to promote their message, and gives area artists of all ages the chance to have their artwork featured in a public space!
Downtown Hammond Art Walk
Head to Downtown Hammond and stop into the amazing galleries and shops for the Art Walk. There will be live music, places to eat, and the chance to watch several artists perform their LIVE! The after party starts at 6 p.m. at the Mark Anderson Studios at 5246 Hohman Ave.
Relay for Life of Portage
This Saturday is the Relay for Life of Portage, which is taking over the track and field of Willowcreek Middle School. To help honor those who lost their battle with cancer and those who have survived it, this event is a special way to support the American Cancer Society. Join a team and grab your walking shoes!
Brew at the Zoo
The Washington Park Zoological Society is hosting the 6th annual Brew at the Zoo at Washington Park Zoo in Michigan City, one of the main fundraisers to provide care for the animals, purchase new ones, and repair the exhibits. The event features live interactions, drinks, food and entertainment! Must be 21 and over to attend. Ticket prices can be found here.
Will Sing 4 Food
To help support The Pax Center, this fundraiser will feature five local musicians who will perform at the center. Names that have you have seen at the prestigious Hoosier Star will be at the center, singing and performing for the community, all to raise money for the center. They are expecting a sold-out show, so order tickets fast here!
Portage Township Live Entertainment Featuring Hot Sauce
Hot Sauce is a dynamic husband and wife musical duo hailing from Northern Indiana. Their eclectic mix of music touches on classic country and rock, current country and pop, folk, bluegrass, jazz and show tunes. Borrowing their name from a popular condiment, they also are known to perform a mix of "spicy" tunes in support of their small-batch crafted product, Scoville Brothers Hot Sauces.
