This weekend a book signing, fun run, Christmas concert, several theater productions, holiday open houses, a mistletoe market, a Christmas parade, and holiday bazaar are all on tap for a fun weekend in Northwest Indiana!

Join them at Extra Mile for a book signing! Then on Saturday, join Adam and Tim for a fun run!

Coming to Town This Weekend
Bethany Church is sponsoring this December 1st concert at the Civic. In the same way that they brought Randy Travis in 2007, they are bringing Clint Black to the stage! The opening act is Lexi Elisha, a NW Indiana artist rising in popularity! Passionate about the community and addressing local needs, Bethany will be giving the proceeds from the concert towards local drug and suicide prevention efforts.

Portage High School Thespians to Present The 39 Steps
Because of the overwhelming response, PHS will present "The 39 Steps" for two more nights--Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1. The 39 Steps is a comedic, fast-paced whodunit based on the Alfred Hitchcock film masterpiece. A riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, The 39 Steps amounts to an unforgettable evening of pure pleasure, packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters, an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance!

Celebrate the Holidays with Don Quijote
Join Don Quijote for their Store Open House on Saturday, December 1st, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, just in time for your holiday shopping! Stock up on Spanish items for your pantry! Free wine tasting and food samples will be available starting at 11:00 am.

Visitors will be able to enjoy free photos with Santa, product samples, and prize drawings. Guests can also purchase a variety of gift sets, including the Angel Sampler, which will have a portion of its sales donated to the OE Angel Tree program to provide Christmas gifts for OE clients with little or no family. Visitors to the open house can also shop the Holiday Gift Extravaganza from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, featuring gifts from several different vendors including Avon, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, Thirty-One, Partylite, Tupperware, and Shaklee.

Footlight to Stage Family Musical
Footlight Players of Michigan City will open You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Friday, November 30 at 8pm. You're a Good Man Charlie Brown tells the story of an average day in the life of the famous comic strip child hero, Charlie Brown. The audience is introduced to the whole Peanuts gang: Charlie Brown, Patty, Shroeder, Linus, Lucy and Snoopy. The show ends with each character listing things that for him or her equal happiness.

City of Portage Christmas Parade and Lights Celebration
We are excited to announce that this year's Christmas Parade and Lights Celebration will take place December 1. There will be groups of carolers, the Myer's Student Council will be selling hot cocoa and cookies, free pictures with Santa will be available, and we will be lighting the park and Christmas decorations at 4:30 pm.

Kick Off Your Holiday Shopping with Parkview Elementary's Holiday Bazaar
Parkview Elementary is hosting a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 1, from 9 am to 3 pm. The bazaar will feature games for the kids, food, raffles, and crafters/vendors set up for holiday shopping!

Elston Middle School to Stage "It’s a Wonderful Life"
Fans of the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” will enjoy the Elston Middle School’s production of this holiday classic. Don’t miss this sparkling and magical play performed by Elston Middle School students, under the direction of teachers Jennifer Markovich (Director) and Kara Curran (Assistant Director).
