April 27: New Vistas High School Open House - Portage, IN
Tour the school, learn about their programs, meet their faculty & staff, and enjoy some light refreshments! 

April 27-29: Avengers: Infinity War at the Portage 16 IMAX + GDX - Portage, IN
A movie event which Marvel Comics fans have been anticipating for years, the movie will bring together superheroes from all over the Marvel Universe in an action packed film to remember! 

April 28: Kid's Closet Sale - Valparaiso, IN
There will be 30+ vendor tables of gently used infant, toddler, and children's apparel, toys, furniture, and much more! 

April 28: Briar Leaf Golf Club: The One Man Scramble Tournament - La Porte, IN
Players will play the “Double Mulligan” format. Each player will be allowed to hit 2 “mulligans” on each hole. Play is in threesomes to maintain an enjoyable pace of play. The average winning score is 10-12 strokes below a player’s handicap. April 28: Pioneerland Pork Chop Dinner - La Porte, IN
The entire village was funded and is operated by volunteers and depicts the 1800-1840's time period and on April 28th there will be a pork chop dinner at the village! 

April 28: Franciscan Health Safe Kids Day - Crown Point, IN
Franciscan Health Crown Point and the Southlake YMCA will offer a free Safe Kids Day event from 9 a.m. until noon April 28 at the YMCA,1450 S. Court St. The program, also being done in conjunction with Safe Kids Day Northwest Indiana and the Crown Point Community Foundation, will include numerous activities and demonstrations, including: a fire safety; a water safety discussion by the YMCA; and information on bicycle safety and helmet fitting, home safety safe sleep and pet safety! 

April 28: Roller Derby Double Header - Hobart, IN
Northwest Indiana’s roller derby team, the South Shore Roller Girls (SSRG), host a double header event. On Saturday, April 28, 2018 SSRG will host their second home bout of the season at the Diggz of NWI located at 4590 W 61st Ave, Hobart, IN 46342. Watch as SSRG Runaways take on Kokomo City of Fists, followed by another action packed game with the SSRG Derailers against the Vindicated Vixens!

April 28: Shred Day + Kids Events - Highland, IN
Join Brown Insurance Group as they host a Community Day! Everyone is welcome to attend. Share with your friends and neighbors! Remember your shredding and a canned good donation for the Food Bank!

April 28: Kick Off the Summer at Explore the South Shore - Hammond, IN
The annual Explore the South Shore returns to the Indiana Welcome Center on Saturday, April 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Families will enjoy an afternoon of fun and entertainment at this free event. The first 200 families to visit will receive a goodie bag filled with special treats and savings from participating organizations and attractions. Sweet treats and small bites will be available for purchase. Area attractions and festivals will have interactive activities, giveaways and games as well as information about events happening in 2018!

April 29: Jesse Meredith Memorial Run and Soldier Shuffle - Valparaiso, IN
The Jesse Meredith Memorial Run & Soldier Shuffle is to commemorate, Jesse Meredith, who was a member of the Indiana National Guard. Stephany Meredith, his wife, also served in the National Guard. This 5K walk/run event and 50-mile motorcyle run is a family event and will include activities for all ages to include face painting, a balloon artist, and a visit by a few of the Indianapolis Colts' Cheerleaders, as well as associate veteran's organizations sharing their information and message. An optional Post-Race BBQ and Party will follow immediately after the race.
