High school students may choose from more than 30 half-day programs at the Porter County Career and Technical Center, 1005 N. Franklin St., Valparaiso, and other sites. They might consider everything from Education & Early Childhood Education to Work Study to Cisco Networking. Most students will have a chance to earn dual college credits while enrolled in a career and technical class.

The next open houses will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26. Most programs will welcome current high school sophomores and juniors from 8 to 9 a.m. Parents are welcome, too.
Schools served by the career and technical programs are Boone Grove, Chesterton, Hebron, Hobart, Kouts, Morgan Township, Portage, Valparaiso, Washington Township and Wheeler High Schools.
