Our goal at Rittenhouse of Portage is to educate, support and create awareness for those living with Alzhimer’s and those caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease. During Alzheimer’s Awarness Week, Rittenhouse of Portage will be hosting educational workshops, a fundraising event and honoring those that have lost a loved one to Alzheimer’s. Monday, June 6th 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m.–Grab n Go Lunch Fundraiser
All proceedswill be donated to the Azlheimer’s Association. Hot Dog, Chips, Cookie and Beverage for $5.00. Please call ahead to place your order of 5 or more.
Tuesday, June 7th @ 11:30 a.m.-Alzheimer’s Disease: What You Need to Know Presented by Louise Thompson from the Alzheimer’s Association
Alzheimer’s Disease: What You Need to Know is an introductory program for anyone who suspects memory loss and /or is interested in learning about it. The basics about memory loss, getting a diagnosis, using the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s disease this program compares the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease to normal aging. Light lunch provided.
Wednesday, June 8th @ 7:00p.m.-Candle Light Ceremony
Pastor Marty Ethridge will be leading us in prayer while we light our candles and take a moment to honor the lives that have been touched by Alzheimer’s Disease.
Thursday, June 9th @ 6:30p.m. - Creating Living Moments of Joy Presented by Barbara Dzikowski from Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services
Understanding the progressive changes in the brain caused by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias can help family caregivers of all ages better respond to their loved one's changing needs. This program will focus on positive caregiving approaches that can make a big difference in quality of life -- for both persons with dementia and those who love them. Light refreshments will be provided.
