Did you know that nearly half of all adults in the United States have diabetes and in many cases, it could have been prevented or slowed?

To learn how you or a loved one can prevent diabetes and the complications it causes, join Clarise Largen, BSN, RN, CDCES, Licensed Diabetes Educator as she presents a free HealthyU wellness seminar, Diabetes: Prevent it, Delay it, Put it into Remission. The seminar will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 29 at the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte located at 140 East Shore Parkway in La Porte, Indiana.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, forty-nine percent of adults in the United States have diabetes or prediabetes. Diabetes can lead to serious health conditions, especially in those with chronic health conditions like obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver, and high blood pressure.

During her talk, Clarise will dive deep into the actions you can take to stop type 2 diabetes from progressing. She has included ample time for a question and answer session as well.

HealthyU is a wellness series offered by Northwest Health to provide the community with relevant health and wellness topics. The free seminars are geared to answer you and your families’ questions and provide simple and actionable steps to improve your quality of life and help you live healthier.
