PHS Varsity Squads Get Closer to the Club 250

The girls cross country team finished 6th out of 31 teams at this weekends New Prairie Invitational. Paige Pizer led the team with her 10th place finish. The girls next race Valpo and Lake Central tomorrow at Sunset Hill County Park.

The boys’ cross-country team finished 8th out of 34 teams at New Prairie. Outstanding Performances by Anthony Best, Robert Blackwell, Dustin Balboa, Max Zmija, Jacob Thielbar and Ross Falk. Despite all the weather problems these guys showed maturity and focus and achieved most of their goals such as beating a strong New Prairie team. Chris Klenk and Tim Huber also ran very well in the Frosh-Sophmore race. (overall 60-17, DAC 4-2)

At the girls’ golf sectional in Valpo, Sarah Dienes qualified as an individual for next week’s regionals.

Friday night the football team lost to Crown Point 7-24 (overall 2-3, DAC 1-2) JV football team lost to Crown Point Saturday morning 0-20. (overall 1-3, DAC 1-2)

The boys’ soccer team beat Griffith on Saturday 3-0. Brandon Swindle had 2 goals and an assist, Greg Prohl 1 goal, Donovan Cole and Dean Anderson 1 assist, Nate Johnston and Allen Barrett each with a save. The team has out-shot its last 2 opponents by a combined 50-4. Great defensive effort. Overall 6-3-1, DAC 2-2) JV ended in a 0-0 tie. Austin Lee had 2 saves. (overall 3-4-3, Dac 1-3).
