La Porte County’s most popular and largest health event returns in 2017 in a brand new location, at a new time of year, and with a fresh makeover that incorporates input from local fairgoers in the past.
Women’s Fair 2017, sponsored by La Porte Hospital and La Porte Physician Network, will take place from 2-6 p.m., June 13 inside the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex at Purdue University Northwest, 1401 S. US 421, Westville.
“In 2016, we paused and took time to survey the Women’s Fair community to ask what they would like to see in an event. What would be included in their ideal health fair?” said Stacey Kellogg, regional manager of community relations for La Porte Hospital. “We’re excited to be able to incorporate a lot of the feedback we received in creating Women’s Fair 2017, and will be keeping people updated on the additions to the event on the La Porte Hospital Facebook Page,” Kellogg said.
Women’s Fair 2017 will incorporate free screenings; highly-interactive health displays; doctors, nurses and other health providers; healthy vendors; nutritious food samples; and a super-energetic atmosphere.
“Having Women’s Fair in June this year will help us kick off summer with a healthy start for women and their families locally,” Kellogg said. “It’s the middle of the year, and the women we serve told us that June was the time of year that they would be most likely to have an afternoon free for this event. We’re glad we were able to make that change, and can’t wait to reveal more details of the event as we get closer.”
One new feature this year is Early Bird registration. By registering before Mother’s Day (May 14), attendees can be entered for a chance to win a year-long membership at The Crossing, and VIP entry into the fair.
