On Saturday, April 3 the church presents, as part of their Community Easter Festival, “Eggstravaganza” for children up to 11 years old. The egg hunt will begin at noon and will be broken into four different age groups with around 3,000 candy filled plastic eggs spread around in each area.

Each area will contain a special egg which can be turned in for additional prizes. Twelve door prizes will be awarded through a drawing.

Participant will also be entered into a grand prize drawing for the opportunity to win a Nintendo Wii for ages 6-11, a V-Motion for ages 3-5 and Baby Einstein DVD pack for children under age two.

The grand prizes will be given away at the Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. To qualify for the grand prize, participants must attend the egg hunt and the Sunday morning service.

Pastor Jerry Martin said the purpose of the gathering is to reach out in love as we share the Easter message with the children that Christ has risen.

At the Easter Sunday service, the Central Church Choir will present, “Redemption: The Power of the Cross.” Performances will take place at the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. service.

Before the Easter egg hunt, the Men’s Fellowship group will be holding the “Men’s Resurrection Breakfast” at 9 a.m. Saturday at Suzie’s Café in Valparaiso. Tickets are $8 and the event is limited to 50 people. The Café is located at 1050 Southpoint Circle.

Pastor Robert Eckley said the breakfast gives men an opportunity to fellowship, stepping back from their busy schedules and reflect on what the Lord’s resurrection means in their lives.

The church is located at 5120 Central Ave in Portage. For more information contact Jerry Martin at 1-219-762-0680.
