Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) invites artists to apply for its annual art festival. Currently in its 38th year, the Lubeznik Arts Festival (LAF) will take place on August 17th and 18th. This event features fine art and fine craft exhibitors alongside contemporary art galleries, food and interactive family activities.
LAF takes place on LCA’s grounds to connect festival-goers to its dynamic programming and exhibitions. All proceeds from this event are invested back in the community. LCA’s galleries are open to the public at no charge, and its programs serve more than 2,000 children each year.
We will be selecting individual fine artists and fine crafters through a jury process. Additionally, interior space will be available for use by regional galleries that represent the best in emerging contemporary art. We anticipate 75 to 100 exhibitors in total. LAF is extensively marketed via social media, radio, TV, print and promotional signage.
The juror for this year's festival is Kristina Knowski, a fine artist and illustrator living in Northwest Indiana. Since graduating as Valedictorian from the American Academy of Art in Chicago in 2012, Kristina has participated in numerous group and solo shows in Chicago, Northwest Indiana and surrounding states. Some of these include “Animalier: The Animal in Contemporary Art,” “Apocalypse 2012: Genesis 2013,” “Facing Extinction,” and “Birds & Bees.” Her most notable solo show was “Dreams of Martha” at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, in remembrance of the 100-year anniversary of the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon. Kristina manages SFC Gallery in the Uptown Arts District of Michigan City, Indiana.
