August 3: Summer Blood Drive Methodist Hospitals - Gary, IN
Methodist Hospitals is sponsoring a Blood Drive Friday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The drive will be held in the South Pavilion Auditorium at the Northlake Campus located at 600 Grant St. Gary, IN 46402. Michigan City Mainstreet Association's award-winning Taste of Michigan City returns, bringing dozens of local eateries to the Uptown Arts District. Sample the many exciting varieties of cuisine Michigan City and the surrounding area has to offer.
August 3 - 5: 10th Annual Great Lakes Grand Prix - Michigan City, IN
In its 10th year, the Award Winning Great Lakes Grand Prix is part of the Super Boat International offshore powerboat racing schedule and features many of the world’s fastest and most powerful offshore power boats speeding past spectators on Washington Park Beach at speeds nearing 200 miles per hour.
August 4: Valpo Kiwanis Club Annual Corn Roast Festival - Valparaiso, IN
The Kiwanis Club of Valparaiso will hold its Annual Corn Roast Festival on Saturday, August 4th in downtown Valparaiso at the William E. Urschel Pavilion and Central Park Plaza from 5pm to 10pm. The event will have numerous added features this year including live music, a beer wagon, and food trucks.
August 4: Rock the Block - Valparaiso, IN
Rock the Block is an all day music festival and fundraiser that will be benefiting the Porter County Museum and the Memorial Opera House. There will be food and drink as well as a beer garden, all outside. There will also be activities such as a dunk tank, an artisan market, a petting zoo, an antique car show, and appearances from the Valparaiso Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Porter County Sheriff's Department.

August 4 - 5: The 60th Annual Chesterton Art Fair - Chesterton, IN
The 60th Annual Chesterton Art Fair will take place on August 4-5 at Dogwood Park in Chesterton, Indiana. Over 100 artists from all over the country will take place in this well-established event. Visitors will find talented work in a huge variety of mediums from jewelry to pottery to fiber to paintings and more!
August 5: Cultural Unity Day Arts and Crafts Festival - Valparaiso, IN
The Northwest African American Alliance will be hosting a Unity Day Fundraiser Craft Fair and open mic event on August 5, 2018 from 11 am - 6 pm at the David Butterfield Pavilion located on the corner of Calumet and Evans in Valparaiso IN.
August 5: Dixie Crush at Founders Square Park - Portage, IN
Come out and enjoy Dixie Crush at the 2018 Portage Founders Square Park Series Four Festivals of Food, Fun, Family & Friends. Food Trucks, Wine/Beer Tent by Clancy’s. Bring a blanket or chair, and umbrella if necessary.
August 5: Babapaloosa 2018 - Valparaiso, IN
Babapaloosa on August 5th, 2018 at Sunset Hill Farm and Park at 775 N Meridian in Valparaiso, Indiana 46385 is a Chesterton-Porter Rotary event in its 4th year. This year’s event will be once again featuring 5 local bands. Food and drink vendors will be there to provide all you need. Valpo Velvet Ice Cream, Sweet and Savory Delights, Kona Ice, Leroy’s Hot Stuff, So Good Island Grill and Dave’s Concessions will be offering everything from ice cream and elephant ears to jerked pork and chicken.
