Calumet College of St. Joseph's Devin Harrison (SR/Chicago, Ill.) used his long-range artistry during the week of Nov. 27 through Dec. 3 to garner Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors, which were announced Tuesday morning by the league office.
Harrison, a senior guard, sank 17 three-pointers over two games, including 10 in one contest, to lead the Crimson Wave to a pair of conference wins last week with his 28.0 scoring average and .708 shooting percentage from threepoint range (17-of-24).
Harrison hit his ten treys in 13 attempts in an 87-49 victory over Indiana University South Bend last Wednesday with nine coming in the first half, where he poured in 31 of his game-high 35 points. The ten three-pointers tied the mark for the most treys in a single game at the NAIA II level this year.
Harrison collected another seven three-pointers and 21 points on Saturday when the Crimson Wave scored a 95-76 road win over Judson University.
Harrison's 45 treys this season rank No. 1 in the nation at the NAIA II level, while his 4.0 three-pointers per game sit third. Harrison is the first player of the week winner for the men's program since Roddy Richardson took home the honor back in February of 2012.
Calumet St. Joseph's 2-0 week put the Crimson Wave at 8-3 overall and 3-2 in league play. The Wave will continue conference play this weekend when they welcome Robert Morris University to the Rittenmeyer Center. Tipoff is slated for 3:00 pm.
