2016 is nearing its end and we've been taking a look at all of our best stories from the year with our Top 10 lists for each section of our site. It's been a great year for good news in Portage, and we're excited to see all the positive things 2017 has to offer us!
2016 was truly a year of change and growth for Portage, Indiana. Sitting on the Portage Chamber Board, I have seen a tremendous amount of growth first-hand in the crazy number of groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and announcements the Portage business community has offered this year. Outside of the business side of things, a whole bunch of good was spread this year in schools, churches, nonprofits and more throughout the year. Plus, the first steps were taking in building Portage's downtown with the openings of the Founder's Square Park amphitheater, the police station, fire department and all the other happenings in 2016.
