The second annual Monsters of the Midwest youth football tournament will be taking place at the Crown Point Sportsplex Nov. 8 and 9. Tournament planners estimate 33 8U through 13U teams from Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin will battle for top honors in their division during the two-day event.
According to Tournament Director Jamie Macdonald, playing football and being able to stay in a hotel bonds the teammates together and helps create great experiences and memories.
“It’s [Monster of the Midwest] a tournament we run to let kids expand on their football playing experience and give them something to have memories of,” stated Macdonald.
Games will start between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. both days, and run through 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, and finish earlier on Sunday, Nov. 9.
Spectators are invited to watch and cheer on the teams. Cost to attend is $12 for an adult weekend pass or $7 for a single day pass; $5 for a student weekend pass, including college students, or $3 for a day pass; and children 5 years old or younger are free.
