Mrs. Benson from Porter County Soil and Conservation came to Central Elementary School in Portage for the 'From Seed to Plant' program. She read the 2nd grade students a story about the life of a seed. After the classroom lesson, they took a schoolyard hike to witness firsthand the journey a seed takes in order to become a plant.
