Changing Tents, Rinse Stations, Gear Check
Another new feature to Mudathlon are the Changing Tents. There will be two tents, one for men and one for women, located next to the rinse stations in the post race area for Mudathletes to quickly change into cleaner clothes.
The rinse stations ARE NOT showers like you would find at your home or hotel. The water pressure is generally low and they are meant to rinse off most of the mud but not get you clean enough for a night on the town. Please plan accordingly by bringing towels and a change of clothes.
Gear check will be available to all Mudathletes in the post race area.
Mini-Mudathletes Kids' Course!
Now your kids can be Mini-Mudathletes and have just as much fun as the big kids! Register your child, ages 5-11 years old, to participate in our new Mudathlon-Indianapolis Kids' Course. The quarter mile course will include over a dozen muddy obstacles such as a little wall, hay bales, a mini mud pit, car tires, muddy crawl and much more. They will also receive a bandanna and medal for participating. The course will be open from 8am-12pm and will cost $10 for the first run of the course and $5 for each additional run. Your little one won't want to miss out on the opportunity to be one of the first Mini-Mudathletes!
Things to Bring
Old Shoes: the ones you've been putting off throwing away until after Mudathlon
Duct Tape: To tape you're shoes to your feet, they may still come off but we believe this helps keep them on.
Towel and Fresh Clothes: After cleaning off, you will want a fresh set of clothes and footwear for your trip home. Also, a swimsuit or other nylon gear under the clothes you wear during the race is a great idea for hopping into the rinse area directly after the finish.
Gloves: These are really helpful for maneuvering over and under obstacles, the kind that leave your fingers exposed are great.
Eye Wear: If you have contacts, a pair of goggles would come in handy and if you are wearing glasses, strap them on.
Bug Spray: It is June, we are in the middle of nowhere, there are bugs.
Sunscreen: If you are serious about it, make it waterproof.
Photo ID: ID's will be checked prior to distributing beer to Mudathlete's.
Extra Cash: Additional beer, beverages, food, as well as mucktacular Mudathlon Merchandise is available for purchase.
Waterproof Camera: If you are thinking of taking pictures on the course, bring something waterproof and disposable.
Costumes: We encourage and have a contest for them, just make sure they don't impede your ability to stay safe.
Waiver: Save a few minutes at Packet Pick-Up by bringing a signed waiver. See above for instructions on accessing the waiver ahead of time.
A Good Mucking Attitude: If you can't have fun at Mudathlon, we can't help you.
