Visiting Valparaiso picked up the victory behind the first place 4x400 relay team of Jacob Chapman, Ricardo Rosario Hoover, Michael Rastovic and Isaiah Smith, who turned in a finals time of 3:27.78. Among the individual winners for Valpo were Andrew Guzek (discus, 127-00), Andrew Jankowski (1600 meter run, 4:34.08) and Rastovic (300 meter hurdles, 41.82).

Portage won the 4x800 meter relay with a team of David Clegg, Nick Heimberg, Tommy Martin and Gemel Tribble turning in a 8:11.99 finals time. The Indians’ Tyler McCann won the shot put event with a throw of 49-01.50 and T.J. Skelton was the victor in the long jump (20-03.00).

Valparaiso 3, La Porte 2 (Girls Tennis)

Rachel Crookston was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at No. 1 singles for Valparaiso as teammate Rachel Willing won 6-1, 6-1 at No 3 singles. The Vikings’ No. 1 doubles team of Brooke Sever and Caitlin Kennedy picked up a 6-0, 6-1 triumph.

La Porte’s Jill Boger won at No. 2 singles (7-5, 6-4). The Slicers prevailed at No. 2 doubles behind Emily Osborn and Callie Scissom (5-7, 7-5, 6-4).

Chesterton 169, Valparaiso 179 (Boys Golf)

Chesterton’s Zach Von Huben was the meet’s top golfer, shooting a 38 at Sand Creek on Tuesday. The Vikings’ were led by Michael Gallinatti, who shot a 41.

Valparaiso 12, Boone Grove 3 (Baseball)

Sam Miller drove in a pair and scored one for visiting Valpo. Justin Duty (1-for-3), Matt Mayes (2-for-3)and Andrew Page (2-for-3) all had two RBI for the Vikings.

Darrell Maxey drove in two Boone Grove’s runs.

Bishop Noll 11, 14; Marquette 1, 0 (Softball)

The Blazers started strong in game one, but Bishop Noll pulled away with a pair of victories on Tuesday.

Marquette 3, South Bend Clay 2 (Girls Tennis)

Zoya Ganz and Ari Gatzka earned Marquette a win at No. 2 doubles (3-6, 7-5, 6-3) while Abigail Schmidt (No. 1) and Taylor Bowen (No. 2) had singles victories for the Blazers. Marquette now stands at 8-3.

Valparaiso 86, Portage 46 (Girls Track)

Anna Walls won the 200 meter dash for Valpo with a finals time of 27.67 seconds. Portage had a win in the 1600 meter run from Kyra Ball, who turned in a finals time of 5:38.17.
