At Aylesworth Elementary, students have been busy collecting nonperishable items for the food pantry, and personal care items for Gabriel’s Horn Women/Children’s Shelter, and New Creation Men’s Center. The outpouring of items has been incredible. Several students have made it their mission to do as much as they can to help others in need.
Natasha Gould, a fourth grader at Aylesworth Elementary, made 117 homemade bars of soap to help those in need this holiday season. Talk about compassion!
When asked about her generous donation, she said, “It was fun and easy. We already had the supplies. I got to mix colors together to create new colors like midnight purple, turquoise, and ruby. I made them for people who don’t have soap in their homes.” When asked what advice she would give to others who want to do more, she said “Have fun with it and just give to people in need.”
